Rule to derive positions for Double Octave for the 7 scales.

The numbers on the first row and the second row, which are in BOLD represent the scales

1 - Ionian
2 - Dorian
3 - Phrygian
4 - Lydian
5 - Mixolydian
6 - Aeolian
7 - Locrian

So 5 means - Mixolydian and so you should follow the pattern starting from column 5 by assuming that is the 6th string.

Of course you have to make adjustments when you go to the 2nd string. Go high by a semi tone and follow the pattern, that's all.

Putting up patterns in a separate post anyway, but it's nice to know this amazing shortcut to remember everything!
