Pentatonic Minor Scale Exercises

6 - 5 - 6

Which means, play all the notes of the scale on the 6th string, i.e. Sa and Ga and then move over to 5th String and play Ma and Pa and then return to 6th string and play Ga and Sa. So the sequence would be Sa-Ga-Ma-Pa-Ma-Ga-Sa

2nd exercise

(Sa-Ga) - (Ga-Ma) - (Ma-Pa) - (Pa-Ni) - (Ni-Sa) - (higher octave) and so on until you reach the Sa, two octaves higher on the 1st string.

(Sa-Ga-Ma) - (Ga-Ma-Pa) - we are grouping by three this time.

Variation - play these exercises in reverse, that is on reaching the 1st string return to the 6th string following the same pattern.
